Deadline funnels (or countdown funnels) have been around for a while, and it's the perfect time of year for them as well because they are super powerful for time-sensitive offers.
Meaning, you put a countdown timer on your sales funnel, and then when that timer hits zero, it automatically redirects to an 'all gone' or a 'cart closed' page.
You could even have people sign up for a wait list so you can capture their information and have them be the first to know when you decide to open up that offer or cart again.
Now, there's a lot of buzz going around about deadline funnels since they are great at creating a sense of urgency and scarcity amongst buyers- but how you create them, what software you need, and if you really need to pay a hundred dollars a month for them are questions that we, as small business marketers and CEOs, need to be asking.
The first part of that is no, you absolutely do not need to add on an additional $100/ month on to your marketing budget just to leverage this crazy simple- but crazy powerful- piece of technology. The tool we use for all things marketing and sales doesn't cost a hundred dollars a month- or really, anything a month. The base version costs a meager $37, one time. There's no monthly fee, and it also hosts your websites with no monthly charges for hosting.
It comes with a drag and drop sales funnel builder, website builder, contact card database, sales pipelines, a sales dashboard, and also a calendar booking feature, which is a lot more than just your deadline funnel. But it's nice to have everything under one roof and for a $37 flat fee, you can't go wrong.
So let's jump in and let me show you how we set this up for ourselves in 5 easy steps:
Step 01: Open up your funnel builder and grab the URL (link) to your 'timeout' page before opening up the sales page editor
Step 02: Add in a countdown timer from the elements menu, if your funnel builder has one
Step 03: In the settings for your countdown timer element, set the end date and time (in your time zone, of course)
Step 04: Style it! (this is an optional step, but takes all of 5 seconds so why not?)
Step 05: Also in the settings, paste in the link to the URL you'd like to redirect to once that countdown hits zero
Hit save, and you're done!
Of course, you will want to test this on both, desktop and mobile, and make sure it looks and works right before releasing it to the wild.
I also like to include a waitlist form on my 'timeout' page so I can still capture people's information and continue generating leads, and now I have a warm list to reach out to the next time I decide to open up this offer.
And there you have it, a deadline funnel, or what I've heard more commonly referred to as a 'countdown funnel', for all of your time-sensitive offers.
If you have a Black Friday deal that you're planning to run, a Christmas deal or end of year deal, or even if you're simply looking to dial up the heat on your post-webinar or live-challenge offers, this is one of those no-brainer sales page automations that can help you hit your revenue goals out of the park with very little effort.
If you have any questions about how this would apply to your business, if you need some strategies, or if you simply want to chat about the technical aspects of how this works, go ahead and drop your question in the chat bubble at the bottom of this page and I'd be more than happy to answer any burning questions there.
Happy counting!
