Domain? Check.

Next up: hosting. Keep reading to find out how we set up our Wordpress hosting with Bluehost and point our domains to it, although if you’re still wondering how to get your hands on a drag-and-drop website and sales funnel builder with free hosting included, click here to check out Buttr™ CRM instead.

Sign up for a hosting account with Bluehost

You’re welcome to sign up for a hosting plan with any hosting provider of your choice, but since we used and loved Bluehost for many years while building Wordpress sites for ourselves and for our clients, it’s the one we always recommend! Here are some simple step-by-step instructions to get you on your way to a shiny new Bluehost account:

  • Go to Bluehost (Note: this is an affiliate link, which means that purchasing your hosting with Bluehost via this link will give us a little reward.)

  • Click on the big green button that says ‘Get Started’, and choose a shared plan that works best for you (it’s usually the cheapest one if you only need it for a single website)

  • Enter your domain name on the next page- you will either search/ create a new one, or use one you already have to host it with Bluehost. (Note: to save on costs, we recommend buying your domain name from one of the cheaper service providers we’ve mentioned in Buying a Domain Name)

  • On the signup page, we recommend picking the longest term available for your account plan- usually 36 months- to get locked in for a longer term and at the lowest rate they are currently offering.

  • We recommend unchecking everything under ‘Package Extras’, since we have some free plugins that we usually use to get very similar benefits.

  • IMPORTANT: Last but not least, don’t forget to point your domain to your new Bluehost account! Follow the instructions below on how to do this for many popular domain providers/ registrars- but if yours isn’t listed, or if you need assistance, please reach out directly to your current domain provider/ registrar to have them help you with this.

Point your (existing) domain to Bluehost

Bluehost provides a comprehensive step by step flow for pointing your custom domain to the website you are hosting with them. Please follow this link to find your domain name provider and associated instructions. If your provider isn’t on the list of providers at the link above, please reach out directly to your domain name provider and have them walk you through the process.

Prefer a DIY, drag and drop website builder with free hosting instead? Click here to check out Buttr CRM, our standalone customer relationship management tool that includes an easy-to-use website builder, free hosting, and so much more.
